The Sitemap protocol allows us to inform search engines of the web pages on your website that are available for searching.  It also allows us to include additional information about each web page: when it was last updated, how often it changes, and how important it is in relation to other web pages in the site. This allows search engines to crawl and index the site more intelligently.

Once your website is ready for publishing, we will generate a sitemap containing all accessible pages on the site and submit it to the major search engines. Since Google, MSN, Yahoo, and Ask use the same protocol now, having a sitemap would let the biggest search engines have the updated pages' information.  This way you don't have to wait for the engines to find your site.

Sitemaps supplement but do not replace the existing crawl-based mechanisms that search engines already use to discover web pages. By submitting Sitemaps to a search engine we are helping that engine's crawlers to do a better job of crawling your website to find all the pages.
