We often get asked about our company name “ThirdDaySites”.  People want to to know how we came up with it, what the meaning behind it is. There are three primary reasons for the name. One is strictly business and the others are personal.

On the business side, our goal is to have our custom website designs programmed and ready for content to be added within three days of having the client sign off on the design. Because of an ever increasing work load and a very thorough quality assurance and testing process (multiple browsers at multiple screen resolutions), we don't always hit that goal, but it's always what we shoot for. We want you to be able see a fully programmed site on the third day after design signoff. We're hoping that what you see on that third day will change your business for the better.

On the personal side, as a Christian believers, it keeps our team constantly reminded of who we're all really working for and who we're reflecting when we work and interact with our clients.

My personal journey of faith is cemented in what the followers of Jesus saw on the third day after Jesus' crucifixion (His resurrection) and on what their local community saw happen to these followers. These "third day sights" changed their lives for eternity.

First you have the sight of someone who was killed and buried, who is now alive, walking, talking and eating. Secondly, you have the sight of a group of followers who were cowering in fear, who were denying they knew Jesus, who now, all of a sudden, after their "third day sight", were fearlessly proclaiming what they had seen, heard and touched. For me, this dramatic change - a complete, extreme 180 degrees from the prior few days - can only be explained if their encounter with Jesus did in fact actually happen. There is no other logical explanation for the transformation that occurred in these followers - all of them - and a transformation that remained steadfast during subsequent years of persecution, torture and death.

The third reason for the name is for opportunity to answer this question when I'm asked. If I answer it a thousand times and my business fails, but just one person seeks out and accepts Christ because my response helped in some small way, then everything I did with this venture was worth it.

Sincerely,

Jon Bourne
